Law 27: how to comply with the new CNESST requirements

INFORMATION SESSION

Since October 6, 2025, a new law has modernized the occupational health and safety regime, requiring employers to protect their employees' mental health in the same way as their physical health.

Companies must identify, assess and control psychosocial risks such as :

  • harassment;
  • stress;
  • work overload;
  • any other factor that may affect employees' psychological well-being.

These new measures are not to be taken lightly, as employers risk being fined by the CNESST.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ENTREPRENEURS?

To prevent these psychosocial risks, organizations must :

  • improve work organization and work-life balance;
  • ensure regular monitoring of workers' psychological health;
  • train and sensitize their teams;
  • appoint a psychosocial risk prevention manager.
