Learning the basics of project risk management.
Despite good management, many projects—whether in construction or any other field—end in failure or yield mixed results. The root cause is poor risk management. Indeed, project management naturally involves managing resources, costs, and timelines, but it also involves managing unforeseen events. However, this management of unforeseen events—and thus risks—is often inadequate.
Although risk management is one of the areas recommended by various bodies of knowledge on project management, it is still rarely taught. The reason: risk management is a discipline in its own right; therefore, people trained in project management are not necessarily trained in risk management.
This training course aims to address this gap by providing project managers with a foundation of knowledge in risk management. With this knowledge, project managers will be better equipped to manage projects by ensuring that risks and unforeseen events are identified and addressed at every stage of project implementation.
