APECQ welcomes budget measures for the construction industry, but calls for protection from counter-tariffs
APECQ welcomes the Quebec budget's provisions for the construction sector, and stresses the importance of protecting the industry from the negative effects of counter-tariffs arising from trade tensions with the United States.
Infrastructure investment and rapid project start-up are essential levers for sustaining the Quebec economy. With this in mind, APECQ encourages the various levels of government to pursue their efforts to reduce the administrative and regulatory obstacles that slow down project start-ups.
These adjustments, which do not require additional budgetary commitments, could significantly accelerate housing starts and stimulate economic activity. APECQ remains committed to working alongside stakeholders to foster an environment conducive to the sector's development.
By joining the grouping of construction and materials suppliers' associations, which was formed as part of the preparation of the Quebec budget and Canada's counter-tariffs, APECQ is lending its voice to those of other associations in the construction sector, with a view to continuing its representations to government authorities and closely monitoring developments in the situation.
