Specific objectives :

Contents:

Training in reading and interpreting plans and specifications covers identification of the different types of plans and specifications, learning about symbols and conventions, and techniques for reading and analyzing specifications. Participants will develop practical skills for identifying essential elements useful for estimating, planning or project management. By integrating this knowledge, they will be better prepared to contribute effectively to the success of construction projects, by ensuring rigorous and accurate interpretation of plans and specifications.

The design stages of a construction project ;

  • Types of plan emissions according to project progress ;
  • The general structure of a specification, normative directories and the National Master Specification (NMS) ;
  • Drawing conventions and the main graphic symbols ;
  • General information shown on plans (title block, scale, etc.) ;
  • The different types of views (plan, elevation, section and detail) ;
  • Using clouds for addendums and endorsements ;
  • Organizing an architectural drawing book ;
  • Identification of inconsistencies or omissions in plans and specifications;
  • Practical exercises in finding information in architectural plans and specifications.
